Teun up to 300m2

After installation, it's time to set up the robotic lawnmower's automatic program. Make sure the robot is fully charged in the charging station. On the display, you can set the current date and time. Then, set the start time, the mowing time (including any intermediate charging), and the number of times the mower should mow per week (3, 5, or 7 times).

Teun has no App control and therefore you cannot set starting points yourself.

With Teun, the 2nd starting point is always set at 50% of the boundary wire. The first starting point is at the charging station. This means the robotic lawnmower will enter the field half of the times at the halfway point of the boundary wire instead of always at the same spot. For example: if you use 130m of boundary wire, the second starting point would be at 65m.

If you have a second zone, it is therefore useful to place the charging station in a spot where half of the total boundary wire roughly reaches the second zone. This will make the mower visit that zone more often.

The mower measures the length of the boundary wire while mowing the edge, so the mower automatically knows the total length of the boundary wire.

Our robotic lawnmower Teun will automatically mow the edges of the lawn twice a week if you have previously scheduled a mowing session on the robot. He will not always mow the edges by default for every round he does, because it is worse for the lawn if the edges are mowed too often. This can make edges too soft, making them weak.

So it is not immediately obvious that the robot is mowing the edges, but it will do so automatically. This robotic lawnmower will not mow the edges when you turn it on manually, but only when it starts mowing from its settings.

For our new robotic lawnmowers, Teun and Katrien, it is possible to spray them with a water hose if you want to clean them. However, this is not possible for our robotic lawnmowers Dirk and Betsie.

The Teun and Katrien are our newest models. The main differences between the robotic lawnmowers are:

• Number of square meters for which the mower is suitable. For lawns/grass fields larger than 600m2 and approximately up to 1400m2, then Betsie is the best choice. If your lawn/grass field is smaller than 600m2, then Dirk (with APP) is the most suitable option. If you have a lawn/grass field up to 500m2, then the Katrien is perfect. Teun, the robotic lawnmower can mow lawns/grass fields up to 300m2.
• The Katrien and Teun have a floating mowing deck, which results in a more even cut.
• The Katrien and Teun can be cleaned with a garden hose. The robotic lawnmower Dirk and Betsie cannot. These can be cleaned with a damp cloth. For Dirk and Betsie, cleaning the robot with a garden hose is not covered by warranty. Water can enter the robot and therefore parts in the robot can become defective. Katrien and Teun are completely waterproof and can therefore be easily cleaned with a garden hose.
• The schedule for Katrien and Teun can be set up in a more extensive way, for example, that it mows the edges on one day and not on another. However, you can set things in the App for Katrien, Betsie, and Dirk, but not for Teun (no App).
• The new mowers (Teun and Katrien ) can better navigate narrower passages (minimum required passage is then 80cm).
• Betsie, Dirk, and Katrien have an App with which you can operate the robotic lawnmower. Teun does not have an App. All robotic lawnmowers can be operated on the display.
• Dirk and Betsie have a noise level of 65 dB, Teun and Katrien have a noise level of 55 dB.
• Finally, the zone / starting point function works slightly differently, but all our robotic lawnmowers can mow different zones.

Teun and Katrien are suitable for mowing multiple zones/areas. Important here is;

There must always be 1 large loop. So front and back gardens must be connected with a spacious passage of at least 80 cm between the boundary wires plus 20 cm on both outer sides of the boundary wires. In total, the path must therefore be at least 1.20m wide.

• With the zone layout, you can indicate where on the boundary wire it should enter the field.
• Here you can indicate after how many meters it should enter the field and
• What percentage of the total set mowing time the robot should continue mowing in this section.
• There must be a minimum distance of 0.6 meters between the two fields.

The robot will calculate itself when it will mow which zone. It is not the case that it first does the percentage of the set time for zone 1 and then the percentage of the time in zone 2 (etc.). The robot determines this itself, but will maintain the ratio over a longer period.

1) The robotic lawnmower can drive through a passage up to 20m long to go to another zone. This must be easily accessible for the robot to pass through.

2) We recommend installing the boundary wire in 0.4+0.4+0.4 m, then the mower will drive on the middle of the boundary wire to enter and exit the alley area. So there must be a minimum width of 1.2m in the passage to be able to do this, otherwise it will not work. Make sure there are starting points from the other side of the lawn, then the mower will go through these two areas. This only works for a paved path. Because the mower does not start mowing this way.

You can bury the boundary wire slightly, but we advise against this. The boundary cable will automatically become invisible within 1-2 months and will lie deeper and deeper. The deeper it lies, the worse the signal from the cable reaches the mower.

So after a number of years, this could cause problems more quickly. Another reason is that it is useful for installation to first lay out the cable roughly (with few pegs), so you can adjust it more easily so that the edges are properly included. Make sure that the mower blade is in the highest position to avoid cutting through the cable! Once the cable is completely in place, you can secure it further with pegs.

Ensure that the passage width to another lawn is at least 0.8 meters wide. Otherwise, the robot will have difficulty reaching the other lawn.

Certainly, this is not a problem. As long as the passages are large enough, the surface area does not matter. You can simply set the robot for a shorter duration for 50 or 100m2.

Teun & Katrien both have a rain sensor. These are 2 metal plates. As soon as it starts to rain, water gets between the plates, causing them to conduct. When that happens, the robot knows it's raining and returns to the charging station. It then waits until the rain on the metal plates has dried and then continues mowing. If you have set a working time for the robot, that time pauses and the schedule resumes when the rain has stopped. So it is possible that the robot finishes later if it rains.

The robot does not react to wet grass. But the robot may also not react to drizzle. Only when water gets between the metal plates does the robot stop mowing and return to the charging station.

Teun is ideal for smaller lawns up to 300 m². Perfect for city gardens or compact backyards.

Yes. Teun is equipped with safety sensors that immediately stop him if he is lifted, bumped, or tilted.

Teun automatically returns to his charging station when the battery is low or when the mowing schedule is complete.

No, Teun is not equipped with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and therefore cannot be controlled via an app. Operation is simply done via the display on the mower itself. If you would like app control, please check out our Katrien.

You can program a mowing schedule on Teun's display by setting the desired days and times for the mower to start. This allows you to adjust mowing to the growth rate of the grass.

Yes, Teun can mow both your front and back garden. As long as the robot can reach it by driving, over grass or a path. The passage from front to back must be 1.2m wide. (0.8m plus the width of the mower). Please note that the boundary wire must be laid between or under the tiles. By setting starting points, the robotic lawnmower will know where to start mowing.

A robotic lawnmower independently mows your lawn within a defined area, indicated by a boundary wire. This wire emits signals so the robot knows where it can go. Teun will first mow the edges by driving over the boundary wire during a programmed start. As soon as it returns to the charging station, it will enter the field to continue mowing. With a manual start, Teun will immediately start mowing the field. When it is finished or the battery runs low, the robot automatically returns to the charging station via the boundary wire. This way, it is always ready for the next mowing session.

Start at the charging station and lay the boundary wire along the edge of your property. Use the included ruler and manual to determine the correct distance from the edge of your lawn. Secure the boundary wire with the included pegs and carefully follow all steps in the manual. Don't forget to also mark off obstacles, such as low objects that the robot cannot mow around. Trees or other sturdy objects do not need to be marked off with the boundary wire. We recommend always marking off slopes near water with a border.
